FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: variable-speed drive has drive pulley 1 and driven pulley 4 interconnected through endless flexible coupling 3. Conical surface of pulleys 1 and 4 is composed of movable plates 6 mounted within guiding slots 7 in pulley cheeks 8. Recess 9 in inner side of each plate 6 is adapted to receive base of hollow cone of actuating link 11. Axial movement and fixation of actuating link 11 are effectuated by command. Pairs of retaining rollers 12 are disposed adjacent to each pulley, one at larger end and one at smaller end of pulleys. As a result friction between endless flexible coupling and conical surface of pulleys 1,4 is reduced, when transmission ratio of variable-speed drive is varied.
