The sheet transfer drum has a central drum body (3) with at least one grip system (8,9) extending across the width of the sheet, and jacket segments (6,7) fitted on a flat spot (4,5) of the drum body. These exchangeable segments have a cavity which can be blown out, and can be folded together. The jacket segment may be fixed in the drum body, in which there are recesses by which the segments can be extracted. The segments may be made of a flexible and airtight substance. The segments, in the shape of bellows, may have inserts to assist the correct shaping of the segments when they are inflated.
