Drive circuit for piezoelectric ultrasound transducer

The drive circuit controls an ultrasonic transducer (1) using a sinusoidal signal (SS). The circuit has a control input which receives a rectangular signal (RS), and includes a passive network (5). The sinusoidal signal for the ultrasonic transducer appears at the output of the passive network, and the frequency of the sinusoidal signal corresponds to that of the rectangular signal. The drive circuit includes a voltage supply (3), and its control input is the control input of a semiconductor switch (4). The passive network is switched between the voltage supply and the ultrasonic transducer. The passive network is an LC or an RLC network.
