FIELD: production of mineral wool. SUBSTANCE: method for production of mineral wool from material of high fluidity at elevated liquid temperatures, particular, above 1200 C with viscosity of less than 5000 P at liquid temperature includes supply of melted mineral material after disintegration of all crystallization centers to centrifuge whose periphery wall has a great number of small diameter holes through which the melted material passes under the action of centrifugal force for formation of fibers which are subjected to additional thinning, preferably, by flow of hot gas passing along the centrifuge periphery wall and produced by concentric circular external burner. If fiber formation is accomplished by the traditional method, a considerable part of non-fiber particles is formed. To avoid this drawback, centrifuge temperature during continuous operation is maintained at equilibrium value which is lower than, or equal to, the temperature at which viscosity of melted mineral material amounts to 100 P and higher than the temperature of crystallization of fiber-formed material in undercooled state.
