PURPOSE: To abstract rectangles in a short time with small-scale circuit constitution by performing the detection of existence of edges and the detection of longitudinal edges and lateral edges in the edge detection range sought from the first rectangle information in case of seeking the second rectangle information. CONSTITUTION: An edge detector 27 performs the detection of existence of an edge in the second image within the range of having widened the rectangle shown by the first rectangle abstraction information by specified range, using the first rectangle abstraction information abstracted with a rectangle recognizer 5. A projector 28 performs projection within the range of having widened the rectangle shown by the first rectangle abstraction information by specified range, using the first rectangle abstraction information. In case of seeking the second rectangle abstraction information, the abstraction of rectangles can be performed in a shorter time than before by the amount of processing range being smaller than before because the second rectangle abstraction information is sought by performing the detection of the existence of edges and projection in the edge detection range sought from the first rectangle abstraction information. Furthermore, for the edge detector 27 and the projector 28, it becomes possible to materialize the scale of circuits where the range of detection of existence of edges and projection processing gets off small, in small size. |
