PURPOSE: To enable sterilizing of a product sensitive to moisture without deterioration, by making an unsealed product pass through a sterilizing chamber, a degassing chamber and a storage/package sealing chamber sequentially while being maintained in a dry atmosphere without pathogen. CONSTITUTION: In a sterilizing cycle, firstly, a product to be sterilized on pallets 11-13 is introduced into a sterilizing chamber 10 through a door 14 and, after the closing of a door 14, an external jacket on the sterilizing chamber 10 is heated up to about 25 deg.C. Then, the chamber is vacuumed and, under such a condition, steam is applied to wet the product. Then, a dry nitrogen gas is introduced to pressurize the inside of the chamber, and subsequently, pallets 11-13 where the product is placed are moved to a drying chamber 18 through a moving bay 16 to remove the ethylene oxide and moisture left after the sterilization of the product. Then, the product is moved to a dry preservation chamber 22 through a moving bay 21 to set up a specified atmosphere. Thereafter, a package having the product held therein is sealed by a sealing device 44. |
