VOICE COIL MOTOR FEEDBACK CONTROL CIRCUIT AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove distortions in the acceleration pattern generated, when an inverse electromotive force voltage generated by a voice coil motor in a disk drive system is clamped. SOLUTION: There is provided a circuit for driving a voice coil motor 10 to be used to position the head of a disk drive. This circuit has an H bridge circuit, a controller 20 and a feedback loop 60. The feedback loop prevents an inverse electromotive force from driving the voltage on the voice coil motor to exceed the supply voltage.
