PURPOSE: To simplify segmenting processing for compressed data by a microprogram and to speed up data extending processing. CONSTITUTION: The bit size of an index symbol (hereinafter called as a symbol), the bit positions of the symbol, processing length, compressed data consisting of symbols, and the number of remaining bits in an IDXSR 5 are respectively stored in a CDSSR 1, CBNCT 2, an IDXSLR 3, the IDXSR 5, and an IDXSCT 4 and symbols are successively segmented from the IDXSR 5 and outputted after adjusting their positions by an aligner. In each segment, the contents of the IDXSR 5 are shifted only by bit size, the bit size is subtracted from the contents of the IDXSCT 4 and the bit size is added to the CBNCT 2. When a comparator circuit 12 judges that the contents of the IDXSCT 4 become smaller than the bit size, compressed data with prescribed length are inputted from the external, shifted by a shifter A and merged in the remaining data of the IDXSR 5 by an OR circuit and the merged data are set up in the IDXSR 5. |
