Assessment for treatment with neuroleptic agents

DNA encoding the serotonin 5-HT2A receptor contains a T/C polymorphism at position 102, the two alleles being known as C1 and C2 respectively. The status of a subject as homozygous or heterozygous for the C1 and C2 alleles is used in assessing the subject's responsiveness to a neuroleptic agent, especially clozapine. Methods for use in assessing the responsivennes of a subject are provided.
