<p>A peptide derivative having the sequence as specified herein below: Xaa-Pro-Val-Xbb-Xcc-Lys-Arg, (wherein Xaa is absent or represents Cys or Ser; Xbb represents His or Asn; and Xcc represents Leu or Ile). It can readily and efficiently provide a peptide highly soluble in methanol, etc., and the obtained surfactant peptide can readily be compounded with a lipid mixture and hence is suitable for preparing a lung surfactant. As the surfactant has a good suspensibility and a potent surface activity, it is useful as a remedy for respiratory distress syndrome.</p> |
