The inflatable cushion (1) designated Hapu from the German Hubschrauber-Absturz-Puffer is attachable to the underside of the fuselage of a helicopter. The interior of the cushion is divided into a number of unfolding chambers (2).Several protective plates (4) made of aluminium or plastics are applied to the outer side of the cushion. Inflation takes place via one or more pressure medium sources (5).
