PURPOSE: To provide a heat transfer recording medium for forming a sharp and good image at all times, in which tailings, blurs or voids are not generated in the case the surface smoothness of a body to be transferred is low, while smudge blurs are not formed in the case the surface smoothness of a body to be transferred is high, when a heat transfer recording device having the short contact time of a recording medium with the body to be transferred is used at the time of heat transfer. CONSTITUTION: In a heat transfer recording medium with a heat transfer ink layer formed on its substrate, a release layer composed mainly of a heat melting substance is formed between the substrate and the heat transfer ink layer, and the heat transfer ink layer is composed of a heat melting substance, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers of two kinds or more having different indices and a coloring agent. |
