The equipment consists of a frame (1) with pulleys (7,10) for cables (28) which run over pulleys (27) on stacks of weights (3). The ends of the cables are attached at one side to the bottom of slides (20). The other ends of the cables run over pulleys (21) on the slides to a cross-bar (4).The slides (20) can be secured in one of several positions on vertical rails by pins (23) which can engage with any one of a number of holes in the vertical rails. The weights can be raised by moving the cross-bar (4) away from the frame.
