The sealing system, such as for bell or placement pipes, is composed of two butting components of concrete or polyconcrete and the like, and a sliding seal of an elastomeric material. The sliding angle ( alpha ) of the seal when not under stress is 5-25 deg and esp. < 15 deg , in relation to the base surface of the seal. The seal is of rubber or a rubbery plastics.
