Champagne bottle cork opener

The opener operates with one hand remaining on bottle, and with the other hand removing cork with wiring. It comprises a fastener which engages the cork wiring by compressing two levers. Further lever compressions, e.g. three or four times affect the loosening of the cork wire cage by untwisting.Then a slight tipping of the opener removes the cork. An untwisting hook is driven via a toothed rack and a pinion such that the lever compression generates a moment between the toothed rack and pinion, led to the tooth via a ratchet.
