1-methyl-2-(N-piperidinyletoxy)ethylesters 2-, respectively 3-alkoxyphenylcarbamic acids of the general formula I, wherein alkyl means straight aliphatic hydrocarbon chain of the carbon atom number 3 to 6, are prepared by reaction of 1-N-piperidinyl- -etoxy)-2-propanol with 2-, respectively 3-alkoxyphenyliso- -cyanates of the carbon atom number in the alkoxy group 3 to 6, in benzene at a boiling point of solvent for 10 hours. Compounds display algicidal activity.
