PURPOSE: To ensure a purge amount while keeping the variation of air fuel ratio small by allowing purge gas to flow into an assist air path in an internal combustion engine provided with an air assist injection valve. CONSTITUTION: An assist air path 7 of an air assist injector 8 for atomizing injection fuel is connected through an ISC valve 6 to an ISC path 4 bypassing a throttle valve 3, while a purge path 9 for purging evaporative fuel adsorbed to a canister 30 is connected to the assist air path 7 and a purge flow regulating valve 21 is provided on the way of the purge path 9. The ISC valve 6 and purge flow regulating valve 21 are constituted to be controlled independently according to the running condition of an engine. Thus, as large as possible assist air can be injected from the assist air injection valve while ensuring the purge flow and the atomization of fuel can be realized while restraining the variation of air fuel ratio. |
