PURPOSE: To provide a differential gear device which prevents side gears from falling down and is stable in differential limiting characteristics. CONSTITUTION: In a differential gear device 1 comprising a differential case 3, a pair of side gears 11 and 13, a pair of storing holes 23 and 25 extending in parallel with a rotating shaft of the differential case 3, and a pair of pinion gears 27 and 29 which are stored slidably and rotatably in the storing holes 23 and 25, respectively, and engaged with each other, the side gear 11 is engaged with the pinion gear 27 at two gear parts apart from each other in the axial direction.
