PURPOSE: To realize reasonable attenuation force property according to circumstances of the outer force given to a piston rod, on a shock absorber suitable for the damper mechanism of a vehicular suspension device. CONSTITUTION: A piston 20 for partitioning the inside of a cylinder to two rooms is fixed on the lower end of a piston rod 12 inserted in the cylinder. An outer periphery side communication passage 30c for communicating the upper/lower parts of the piston 20 is installed on the piston 20. A valve seat 30b is installed on the upper part of the outer periphery side communication passage 30c and also a leaf valve 28 sit on the valve seat 30b is installed. A recessed part 30d for forming an orifice with a sitting leaf valve 28 on the valve seat 30b is provided. A slant surface 30e is provided on the surface of the valve seat 30b facing to the leaf valve 28. |
