A cord stopper is used for releasably fastening a cord (34) thereto and comprises a housing (10) having a longitudinal cavity (11) extending longitudinally therein and a pair of through apertures (22) formed transversely through the peripheral wall (10') at the opposed positions; an insert member (12) fitted in the cavity (11) so as to be reciprocally movable along the cavity (11) and having a through hole (32) transversely therethrough; and biasing means (26) for normally urging the insert member (12) outward of the cavity (11), so that when the insert member (12) is thrust into the cavity (11) against the bias of the biasing means (26), the through hole (32) coming substantially into alignment with the through apertures (22) for insertion of the cord (34) therethrough. The cord stopper further includes means (25) for temporally locking the insert member (12) to the housing (10) with the through hole (32) of the insert member (12) substantially aligned with the through apertures (22) of the housing (10) for facilitating cord-threading operation. <IMAGE> <IMAGE> |
