An infusion apparatus may be provided with a drop detector which includes first and second arrays of devices, each array including a signal transmitter and several signal sensors. The drop detector may be incorporated in a clip which is adapted to be releasably attached to a drip chamber. The drop detector may be magnetically mounted to a part of the apparatus.
