The rotary angle determn. appts. has a sensor system (5) incorporating two vertical Hall sensors (6,7) aligned parallel to the axis of rotation and arranged w.r.t. a rotating shaft (1) contg. a magnet (2). The alteration of the direction components of the field lines in the sensor system produced by an angle of rotation ( alpha ), can be evaluated.The Hall sensors forming the sensor system are mutually displaced at 90 deg., and their respective Hall voltages (UH1, UH2) are recordable in a plane lying at right angles to the axis of rotation, and at 90 deg. to each other, to detect the different directional components of the field lines.
