PURPOSE: To prevent overcurrent from being generated and to achieve a capacity for coping with the maximum torque by defining a stator equation, identifying primary leakage inductance, excitation inductance, and primary resistance based on the definition expression, and determining an excitation current. CONSTITUTION: The power factor of an electric motor, a primary terminal voltage, a primary resistor, a primary current, a power supply angular frequency, primary leakage inductance, and further excitation inductance are set to Rf, V1ϕ , R1 , I1 , w, L11 , and Lm1 , respectively, thus defining a stator equation, namely Pf V1 -R1 I1 = (V1ϕ (1--Pf <2> )<1/2> --wL11 I2 )×(w(L11 +Lm1 )I1 -V1ϕ (1-- Pf <2> )<1/2> }<1/2> . The primary leakage inductance L11 , the excitation inductance Lm1 , and the primary resistor R1 are identified as the solution of three simultaneous equations based on the stator equation. Then, D is defined to be D=Rf (V1ϕ I1 ) and an excitation current C0 * is defined to be C0 *=I1 (D-R1 )/(wLm1 )-(M-- wL11 )/Rh1 }<1/2> . |
