<p>PURPOSE: To prevent occurrence of a failure of a compressor and clogging of a capillary by providing a photosensor at an air outlet on the outdoor side of a window type air conditioner installed inside a window which can be opened and closed and by stopping the air conditioner when the sensor receives a light reflected by a window pane. CONSTITUTION: In a state wherein a window pane is half opened, a light emitted from a photosensor 11 is reflected by the window pane 10 (reflector 19), returned to a light-receiving part of the photosensor 11 and sensed. The photosensor 11 detecting the light comes to an 'OFF' state, information thereon enters a control box, a compressor is not started and the main body 1 of a room air conditioner does not operate. So with the case when the window pane 10 is totally closed. When the window pane 10 is totally opened in a normal state, the light emitted from the photosensor 11 is not reflected. Therefore it does not return to the light-receiving part, the photosensor 11 comes to an 'ON' state, the compressor is started and the room air conditioner 1 starts to operate.</p> |
