PURPOSE: To provide a compact display device, a compact information processor and a compact picture reader whose handleability are excellent. CONSTITUTION: Light emitted from a light source 1 is converted into parallel luminous flux by a condenser lens 2 and separated into a P polarized component and an S polarized component by a polarizing beam splitter 5. The P-polarized component is advanced straight and it illuminates a liquid crystal panel 3. Then, a picture formed on the panel 3 is enlarged and projected on a screen which is not shown in the figure by a projection lens 4. On the other hand, the direction of the S-polarized component advanced by being separated in the vertical direction to the advancing direction of the P-polarized component by the splitter 5 is changed by a reflection mirror 6 and it illuminates a negative film 7. The picture of the film 7 is formed on a CCD11 by an image pickup lens 8, a λ/4 plate 9 and a low-pass filter 10 and the signal thereof is transmitted to the panel 3 by a circuit block 12. Besides, the picture displayed on the panel 3 is projected on the screen which is not shown in the figure. |
