PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of erosion in a brazed part by using an Al-Si brazing filler metal of specified composition at the time of brazing the aluminum (alloy) material of the heat exchanger for an automobile, etc. CONSTITUTION: This brazing filler metal composition consists of the Al-Si alloy contg. 1.6-6.6wt.% Si, and the thickness of the brazing filler metal is controlled to 5-50μm. Besides, preferably 3-15wt.% Zn or more preferably 3-15wt.% Zn and 0.001-0.05wt.% In are added further to the composition. This brazing filler metal is allowed to clad a plate material or an Al-base material and used, and the brazing filler metal is formed into a powder having 5-200μm average grain diameter, dispersed in a binder at 15-140g/m<3> and applied on the surface of a joining material. In any case, a heat-exchanger tube provided with the brazing filler metal on the surface and a fin having <=100μm thickness are combined and brazed in vacuum or in an inert gas atmosphere using a flux.
