PURPOSE: To protect a paper discharge port and to discharge paper smoothly even when the condition of an arranging place is not favorable. CONSTITUTION: Paper discharge guides 25, 26 guiding paper 21 are arranged between paper discharge rollers 23 and a paper discharge port 24. The lid member 27 energized by a torsion spring 30 to cover and protect the paper discharge port 24 is attached to the paper discharge guide 26. When the lid member 27 is pushed by paper 21 during the discharge of the paper, the lid member moves to an open position against the energizing force of the torsion spring 30. The paper 21 is guided to the lid member 27 to be discharged upwardly from the paper discharge port 24. |
