Signal filtering method, pref. for vehicle motion sensor signals

The method involves filtering all noise components out of the sensor signal and digitising it. The digitised signal is fed to a microprocessor system which forms the smoothed mean value and performs an interpolation of the preceding signal periods to detect pulse dropouts. Missing pulses are replaced with generated pulses. Falsely replaced or still missing pulses are detected by the microprocessor system and are removed from the digitised signal again or replaced by further pulses produced by the microprocessor system.
