A chair with four legs has leg pairs (3,12) both sides of he flat part (2,13), the legs (4,11) to converge upwards for stacking. The leg pairs stand in parallel planes (I,II) so that when arranged in a row, the opposing pairs of legs of two adjacent chairs (1,8) can be slipped over one another so the leg pair (12) of a first chair (8) covers the leg pair (3) of the other chair. The leg pairs thus form bows whose legs are joined above by a crosspiece (5,9) and are additionally joined by a transverse frame. In the case of chairs with and without armrests (9), the legs of the chairs (8) with armrests are wider than the leg pair of the other chair, i.e. without the armrests. One leg pair per chair should be smaller than the other pair of legs in this chair, using the crosspiece (9) or legs (9) as armrests.
