PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce loss in simple constitution and to provide a high Q factor even in a room temperature state by almost tightly sealing the respective dimensions of a first microwave resonance cavity for the three mutually orthogonal dimensions by the dielectric of low loss. SOLUTION: This resonator is provided with the microwave resonance cavity 201 provided with the three mutually orthogonal dimensions and the dielectric 203 of the low loss for almost tightly sealing the respective dimensions of the microwave resonance cavity 201. In the case of this microwave resonator, the microwave resonance cavity 201 supports the microwaves of a resonance mode for which a mode electric field is zero. Then, in this case, the inner surface of the dielectric 203 of the low loss is arranged at a position where the mode electric field is zero. Further, a metal housing 205 for which the inner surface almost tightly seals the dielectric 203 is provided. In this case, since the inner surface of the metal housing 205 is with a sufficient interval from the inner surface of the dielectric 203, the position of mode electric field zero is maintained on the inner surface of the dielectric. |
