PURPOSE: To record an image at a high speed by providing a means forming a plurality of pulse control signals different in timing and a means recording a plurality of the recording elements belonging to a block at every two or more blocks. CONSTITUTION: During a period when the heater of a group of nozzles 1, 5, 9, 13 and the heater of a group of nozzles 3, 7, 11, 15 are driven by the pre-pulse and main pulse of a block re-dividing signal (first), the heater of a group of nozzles 2, 6, 10, 14 and the heater of a group of nozzles 4, 8, 12, 16 are interlaced so as not to be driven by the pre-pulse and main pulse of a block re-dividing signal (second). By this constitution, the load of a power supply is not increased. A period when the pre-pulse and main pulse of the block re-dividing signal (first) is turned ON is controlled so as not to be overlapped with a period when the pre-pulse and main pulse of the block re-dividing signal (second) are turned ON even when an OFF-pulse period is extended. |
