PURPOSE: To obtain a health food composition composed of chitosan and ginkgo leaf extract in a specific ratio and capable of achieving cellular activation, the strengthening of immune cells, the improvement of brain peripheral bloodstream and psychological symptom, etc., by the synergistic effect attributable to both components. CONSTITUTION: This health food composition is obtained by compounding chitosan and ginkgo extract in the range of the formula: 70wt.% <= the chitosan <=99.9wt.% and the formula: 0.1wt.% <= the ginkgo leaf extract <= 30wt.%, respectively. The composition is optionally mixed with 10wt.% of sorbitol as a sweetening to make the composition easily drinkable. The obtained composition exhibits synergistic effect which exceeds specific effect characteristic to each component by the optimum combination of the chitosan effective for activating cells and strengthening immune cells such as macrophage, eosinophilic leukocyte, natural killer cell with the ginkgo leaf extract having improving effect on brain peripheral bloodstream and psychological symptom. The composition can achieve the preservation, promotion and improvement of health of persons. |
