The container has a perforated holder for the pipette tips (5), a semi-rigid cover (2) which is open at the bottom to cover the holder, and a perforated plate (4) to support the upper ends of the tips. The cover and holder are shaped so that when the cover is fitted it becomes deformed and releases the plate (4). The cover is reinforced by inward-projecting ribs (15) with notches to engage with the blade (4) and deformable when the cover is fitted onto the holder. Each rib has its lower end shaped to engage with the holder.
