PURPOSE: To provide a recording head capable of increasing the number of head substrates capable of being formed from one silicon wafer and a recording apparatus using the same. CONSTITUTION: This recording head has a substrate 301, a plurality of heating elements 3 arranged on the substrate 301 in one row, the power transistor parts 303 arranged in one row corresponding to the heating elements 302 in a ratio of 1:1 and a shift resister/latch circuit 309 outputting image data inputted in series to the power transistor parts in parallel and temporarily storing the outputted data.
