The system consists of an engine cooling circuit with a heat exchanger. There is a fluid circuit which transmits heat from a heat source to the coolant circuit. At least one additional heat-exchanger is incorporated in the circuit in which any remaining heat in the fluid is transmitted to at least one piece of equipment on the engine. The equipment to which the additional heat is supplied is e.g. an inlet tube through which combustion air is sucked in or a battery trough. Alternatively the heat can be directly transmitted to the inlet air.
