Electrically-driven line carriage

The line carriage is moved along a rail or carrier via rollers, with an electric motor for driving at least one of the rollers. The driven roller is provided by the rotating outer mantle (8) of a hub motor (7), which has a running surface on its outside. Pref. the stationary hub (6) of the hub motor is attached to a mounting flange in turn attached to one of the side plates of the carriage and has a number of alternating magnetic poles around its periphery. The inner periphery of the outer mantle has a number of slots (12) receiving a motor winding (13), supplied with current via a mechanical commutator.
