Letter handling system

The letters are held between two flexible belts (11a,11b) which are aligned in a meandering path between pairs of drums. One belt (11a) passes over the drums on one side of the store while the other belt passes over the drums on the other side. The relative speeds of the belts are synchronised to prevent displacement of the letter alignment etc.. Different alignments of belts and rollers can be used, with the letters moved through 90 deg. or 180 deg. at each turning point.
