FIELD: TV systems. SUBSTANCE: invention provides for normalization of image signals by the device multi-cell photodetector at zone scanning of the object of observation at a high accuracy of subtraction of the background component, which allows it to considerably narrow the dynamic range of legitimate signals and reduce the demands to standardization of all circuits of the photodetector in cell sensitivity and gain. This is realized by the fact that the background component is separated individually in each circuit of the photodetector as a mean value of signals of scanning cycles of different sections of the object of observation. In the device, as a variant of method realization, the background component separation unit is made as a low-pass filter, and low-frequency component storage; the input of this unit via a controlled switch is connected to the output of the differential amplifier via an additional. amplifier with a high gain.
