Automatic cleansing of teeth by ultrasonically accelerated water jet

The cleaning uses an ultrasonic probe consisting of a ultrasonic head (1) fitted in a replaceable mouthpiece (12). The mouthpiece is fitted to a short tube (2) with a sealing ring (11). The tube is secured to the ultrasonic head (1) with interposition of a tightly clamped piezoelectric plate (3). The plate is wired (9,10) to an electric generator of ultrasonic frequency. The water is supplied through a hose (6) to a rotary valve (4). The valve opens and closes an aperture (7) in the wall of the tube. It fills the cylindrical space (8) within the tube. The water is ejected into the mouth (15) between two clasps (13,14). The clasps are inserted splayed so as to embrace the full set of teeth (16).
