PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cosmetic or dermatologic preparation containing a specific mixture as an active ingredient, not producing a side effect, and useful for controlling opportunistic or pathogenic pathogens to treat skin superinfections, etc. SOLUTION: This cosmetic or dermatologic preparation contains as an active ingredient a mixture of (A) dodecanoic acid (lauric acid) with (B) one or more fatty acids selected from the group consisting of nonbranched saturated fatty acids having 6-20C chain lengths, in a pH range ofη8, excluding (C) glycerol fatty acid esters, ethoxylated glycerol fatty acid esters and propoxylated glycerol fatty acid esters.
