A coating for biomaterial which is to be brought into the blood stream or into tissues in the human body consists of a coating material which is compatible with blood and tissue and which inhibits coagulation on the biomaterial caused by the adherence of plasmatic or cellular components. The coating material is a material which is self-adhesive on the biomaterial and forms a varnish-like adhesive layer on the surface of the biomaterial and is permanently degraded in the body, (as described in DE 4334272).
