DRAIN MATERIAL FOR CIVIL ENGINEERING WORK

PURPOSE: To provide a drain material for civil engineering works which is excellent in permeable functions and capable of making effective use of by- products generated in a manufacturing process of light weight aerated concrete widely used as a building material or light weight aerated concrete which is no longer required during rebuilding as reassures. CONSTITUTION: A light weight aerated concrete product or its sub-product light weight aerated concrete generated in its manufacturing process is crushed and turned into light weight sand. This light weight sand is used as a sand drain material or a back drain material. The grading of the light weight sand is 10mm and below and includes 5wt.% of 75ϕm of a grading portion or below. What is more, its equality coefficient is specified to 3 and over. This construction makes it possible to enhance a drain function more satisfactorily than natural sand and reduce its unit volume weight to 1/2 of natural sand and below and cut down a manufacturing cost as well.
