PURPOSE: To provide a catheter with a plurality of built-in optical fibers without a fear of breakage by torsion or external force. CONSTITUTION: A lumen 19, among plural lumens of a catheter, for inserting optical fiber 4 is less apt to be in a kink state and can reduce breakage of the optical fiber 4, since the lumen 19 is surrounded by other lumens. Breakage of optical fiber by external force in hand operation of the catheter can be reduced because there is no fear of the plurality of optical fibers to be mutually twisted and fixed in when the optical fiber is inserted into the lumen 19, since the margin of the lumen 19 for inserting the optical fiber 4 is smaller than the outer diameter of the optical fiber 4, and there is no part with a large bending rate and flaw by local rubbing can be reduced. |
