The plate (1) is deposited on the work table of a dividing machine. Prior to turning, a first plate edge is aligned with a stop (3). After turning, a second plate edge, intersecting orthogonally the first edge at the plate corner, is aligned with the stop. The turning process uses a clamp, holding the plate at the top and bottom surface, which is rotatable about an axis orthogonal to the plate plane. The intersection plate corner is so held in the clamp that the rotary axis passes through the intersection point. Finally the plate is turned by the clamp.
