Compact objective with incorporated prism system

The objective (1) has a prism system (4,5) for rotation of the image, positioned between a pair of lens groups (2,3), with the light stop (7) for the objective incorporated within the prism system. The first lens group has a negative refractive force, the prism system employing a pair of relatively rotated prism elements. Pref. a rhomboid prism is inserted in the optical beam path behind the collector lens group (3) relative to the first lens group, the latter provided by a Galileo telescope.
