<p>PURPOSE: To enable optional coordinate input over the entire surface of a touch panel and to obtain high position reliability on the entire surface of the large- sized touch panel by composing plural opposite layers of an analog electrode opposite layer and a digital electrode opposite layer. CONSTITUTION: As opposite layers of insulating plates 1a-1c provided with electrodes, this device is equipped with two layers, i.e., the analog electrode opposite layer 6 formed by arranging the insulating plates 1a and 1b provided with analog electrodes 2a and 2b opposite each other and the digital electrode opposite layer 7 formed by arranging the insulating plates 1b and 1c provided with digital electrodes 3a and 3b opposite each other. When there are two opposite layers like this, three insulating plates constituting the respective layers, i.e., the top insulating plate 1a, bottom insulating plate 1c, and intermediate insulating plate 1 are needed. In this case, the electrodes are provided on both the top and reverse surfaces of the intermediate insulating plate 1b. Then the top insulating plate 1a is pressed at a desired position and then the opposite electrodes come into contact with each other to turn ON a switch.</p> |
