PURPOSE: To provide an automatic focus matching device constituted so that the need of complicated arithmetic operation is eliminated and defocus quantity is minimized by focusing a photographing lens by driving it to follow a provisional tracking curve corresponding to infinity at first and executing the focus- driving thereof when blurring is recognized, obtaining a regular tracking curve based on a focusing point and executing the zoom-driving thereof by allowing it to follow the regular tracking curve on and after it in the case that the zoom-driving is executed from a wide end. CONSTITUTION: When the zoom-driving of a zoom system lens 2 and a focus system lens 3 is executed in a state where they are set at the wide end, they are driven so as to follow the provisional tracking curve that an object distance corresponds to the infinity. In the midst of the driving, the evaluation value of focusing is monitored by a CPU 1. When the blurring is recognized, the focus-driving is executed and the photographing lens is focused. The regular tracking curve which should be truely followed is obtained based on the focused state and the zoom-driving is executed by following the regular tracking curve on and after it. |
