METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DETECTING ATTRIBUTE OF INFORMATION SIGNAL

PURPOSE: To provide a detecting device for attributes of a signal suitable for detection of attributes of a signal subjected to fractal coding. CONSTITUTION: This device has a mapping part 12 which repeats operation for finding a block that a mapped point belongs to as to an information signal divided into plural blocks and then mapping the mapped point belonging to the block to a mapping point in the similar area of an information signal made to correspond to the block in sequence by regarding an attribute detection position as the initial position of the mapped point and an attribute determination part 16 which determines the attribute of the attribute detection position of the information signal from position information on the mapping point when the mapping is repeated by the mapping part 12.
