PURPOSE:To detect thickness of paper leaves at high accuracy by a method wherein a drift caused by fluctuation in temperature, etc. is eliminate by a low-cutoff filter and mechanical noise is eliminated by a high-cutoff filter. CONSTITUTION:A detecting roller 17 having a detecting rod 16 is provided in contact with a reference roller 13 located on a paper leaf transportation path. Change in position of the detecting roller 17 with respect to the reference roller 13 is detected by a detector 1, and its output is given to an identification circuit 7 via a voltage follower circuit 20, a signal amplifier circuit 30, a low- cutoff filter 40 and a high-cutoff filter 50. The low-cutoff filter 40 eliminates drift caused by fluctuation in temperature, etc. and the high-cutoff filter 50 eliminates various kinds of mechanical noise caused by mechanical vibration, etc. |
