<p>PURPOSE: To efficiently remove the Sn type plating layer, applied to the surface of a Zn-containing alloy, by an extremely simplified treatment and to recover and reclaim the Zn-containing master alloy in the state of almost original composition. CONSTITUTION: A Zn-containing alloy, whose surface is coated with Sn type plating, is heated in an oxygen-containing gaseous atmosphere, by which a compound oxide of Sn and Zn is formed in the Sn type plating layer. Then, an external force is applied to the compound oxide to remove it by peeling, or, the compound oxide is heated up to a temp. not lower than the melting point of the Zn-containing alloy and melted, by which the compound oxide is allowed to rise to the surface of the molten metal and removed.</p> |
